Switchboard

One app, every account. Gmail, Outlook, Slack, Linear, Discord, and 20+ more services in isolated, secure browser sessions.

Overview

About Switchboard

Switchboard is a desktop application for people who juggle dozens of work accounts across dozens of services. Our team runs agency engagements; the average engineer here is signed into 4 Slacks, 3 Gmails, 2 Linears, and a rotating cast of client dashboards at any given moment. That workflow melts most browsers and most "all-in-one" apps built for casual users. Switchboard is designed for people with more accounts than a browser profile system was ever meant to hold.

Every account inside Switchboard runs in its own isolated Chromium session. Cookies, storage, cache, and extensions are partitioned per-account — no session bleed, no "wrong cookie on the wrong tab" moments, no weird quirks when a client's SSO sees your personal Google token. Sessions stay logged in across restarts, you switch between them with keyboard shortcuts, and notifications aggregate across all of them in a single panel.

Built on Electron with Chromium session isolation, TypeScript for the app shell, React for the UI, and SQLite for local persistence. Available natively on macOS and Windows, with Linux support on the roadmap.

Why Switchboard

Honest notes on the closest comparable tools and where Switchboard differs.

Stack

The closest comparable. Strong design, subscription pricing, similar service coverage. Switchboard differs on session-isolation guarantees and self-hosting posture.

Franz / Ferdium

Older-generation multi-account tools. Open-source and free, but predate robust Chromium session isolation — cookie scoping has historically been looser.

Rambox

Longer-tenured tool with a wider service catalog. Feels heavier in day-to-day use, especially for power users running 10+ concurrent sessions.

Browser profiles (Chrome, Edge)

Free and already installed. Lacks the unified shortcut layer, cross-account notification surface, and keyboard-driven switching Switchboard adds on top.

FAQ

Common Questions

How many accounts can I add?

Unlimited. Switchboard has no cap on the number of accounts you can manage across any supported service.

Are my sessions isolated?

Yes. Each account runs in its own isolated browser session with separate cookies, storage, and cache. No cross-contamination.

What platforms does Switchboard support?

Switchboard is available natively on macOS and Windows, with Linux support planned.
